Things you really should know about coming to Vayeb 2010:

Fire Ban: As of July 16, 2010 thecounty wide fire ban has been lifted!!!

Gates open: Noon, Thursday July 22. Bring photo ID. If you do not have prior permission to enter the site before this time, you will be turned away until the gates open.

Cash ONLY at Gate: We will only be able to accept cash for tickets at the gate. No credit or debit cards.

Tickets: If you purchased a pre-sale ticket you MUST bring with you 1) your PayPal or Herbs and Arts receipt, 2) State issued photo ID. Your pre-sale ticket will not be honored without these.

No Car Camping: There is no car camping at Vayeb. You will be instructed upon entry on dropping your gear near the campsites and returning your vehicle to the parking area.

RV/Campers: There is a limited space for RV and Campers. These sites will be available on a first come first serve basis. If you arrive at Vayeb with such a vehicle after the sites are full, you will be parked in overflow RV camping which is near the general parking of the event.

Water: Radical self-reliance. Bring your own water. Count on 2 gallons per person per day.

Fire Spinning: If you would like to play with fire arts at Vayeb you MUST check in with our Fire Arts Deputy. There will be a schedule to meet with her at both the gate and at the Info center. If you successfullycomplete the fire arts safety class, have your equipment checked for safety, and sign the fire arts liability waiver you will be issued a fire arts wrist band. If you are seen spinning without this wristband you will be asked to leave the property for the duration of the event. Fire spinning is only allowed in designated areas.

Cactus and Thistle: While most of the festival site is cactus and thistle free, there are areas of the site that are guantlets of nature's torturous plant life. Wear closed shoes, pay attention to where you are walking/camping, carry a flashlight or headlamp after dark.

Elk: Our festival area is on the wildlife corridor of the largest natural Elk Herd in North America. They are big and they don't recognized roads or fence lines. Drive with caution on the dirt roads leading to the site. It doesn't matter what kind of vehicle you have, a run in with an elk will not be pleasant for you, your car or the Elk.

Roads: The roads leading to the site are rural dirt roads. This means wildlife, washboards, dust and farming neighbors. Please keep your speed down to 35 or below on these roads both for safety and as a courtesy to our rural neighbors.

What to bring

Shade Structures: Much of the camping areas are treed. However these prime spots will fill up quickly. Bring a free-standing shade structure in case you end up camping in a non-treed area. As there is no car camping, your structure should be free-standing.

Bug Spray/sleeves/long pants: We are in the woods. There are mosquitos and tics. Bring bug repellent, preferably natural and DEET free. Sleeves and long pants are also recommended for insect protection.

Bike: While the stages and festival grounds are a nice tight walkable area, you may want to bring a bike in case you need to return to your vehicle down at the parking area, or, if you want to joy ride the magnificent property we are on.

Flashlights: and extra batteries. Duh.

Attire: It's Colorado. Be prepared for warm days and potentially chilly nights (could get down to low 40s at night). Rain gear is a good idea. Closed shoes. Now take all this and make it FUNware!

Shedding: While we encourage you and your camp to be festively clad, please avoid materials that will shed such as feathers, sequins, loose fringe, beads, etc.

Trash: Bring trash bags and pack it out with you. We have no trash removal facilities on site.

Solar Showers: Many beautiful locations on site to take a sun shower!

Sun Protection: Sunscreen, sun hats, etc.

First Aid Kit

Smokers: Portable closed ash can such as an old Altoids tin or film cannister.

Drums, Didjes, Percussion: Join in our Tribal drum circle and help keep the energy high and rising!

What NOT to bring:

Pets: If it has a heartbeat, leave it at home. Rocks are welcome. Service dogs with papers/leashes are the only exceptions.

Excessive Packaging: Take your packaged food and re-package into less wasteful packaging. This will reduce your trash on site, and make hauling your own trash out of the site way more manageable.

MOOPy Things: MOOP = Matter Out Of Place. This includes feathers from boas, sequins and beads, line/rope scraps, etc. Anything that can potentially shed should be left behind. Please review our Leave No Trace policy here.

Glass: Avoid glass containers.

Sound Systems: No independent sound systems are allowed.

Loud Generators: If you need a generator for your camp, it must be a whisper generator or you must provide a sound proof safe environment for it to live in. We're talking tent city, be kind to your neighbors.
